1. Art Fix: Juan Dolhare

I don’t know what I like more. Juan, or his art. I met the charming Argentinian outside of Ella on the Lower East Side. The one and only Anna Browne, a late great, addition to the ebb and flow of this inspiring New York tide, is producing his show. I’m absolutely enamored with both of them, and more on Anna to come, but first things first. Juan Dolhare’s paintings are striking.

From his concepts to his color schemes, Dolhare’s pieces resonate profoundly. “Variations on the Same Subject” opens Thursday, March 4th at 631 W 27th St, NYC, 6-8pm. I was lucky enough to stop in while they were installing for a sneak peak. I left buzzing.

Let me tell you, if you’re in New York, amidst all the art fairs happening this week, you must get to “Variations on the Same Subject”. With all the hustle and bustle surrounding Scope, Pulse, and the Armory shows, make time to support a talented young artist that built walls, hung his own art, grabbed the bull by the horns, and put together a sensational show.

This piece is called “Que Nadie me Pinche el Globo”
