Actual Facebook Message from a cafe way outside the city center:
“Hi Melaney!!
I’m visiting my friend Sven in Berlin right now and we decided to take a spur of the moment trip to Amsterdam. Im so excited ive never been before, and It’s beautiful here!
I just realized that you’re from here, and maybe you had any tips or advice so that we could enjoy your city to the fullest.
For one, parking. We drove here and don’t know how to park for cheap. Oh my god I just bought a huge joint for two dollars!
Also, I hope it’s not crazy to ask, but do you know anyone we could stay with for one or two nights? It’s ok if not, but maybe you could reccomend a place to stay that is cheap?
We don’t know anyone here. Hahha. We just got in the car and came here. You’re the only person I know that might know anything! I’d love to at least meet some of your people. You have great energy, and I’m sure your friends do too.
Sorry to be so last minute. Wasn’t sure who else to ask.
Hope ny is treating you well today. We must hang out when I get back.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Smiles, love, and light,
Cole”
She replied. She took care of us. There was much love on the cobble stoned streets of Amsterdam. She’s a good one.
I’ve since spent much more time with Melaney, and am so happy about it. Sharp as a tack, she keeps people on their toes, and makes me laugh at least once every few minutes. She is incredibly bright, in a myriad of ways, and I can’t wait until I have an opportunity to really take care of her.
Melaney is working as a stylist here in New York, has landed a few big gigs, and is doing quite well. So well, in fact, that European fashion publication is running a story on her Trans-Atlantic success. She needed a nice “Dutch girl in New York” photo, so we headed to roof. Here are a few I loved.
Look for this one in Grazia Magazine.
