And thank you Carson. What a wonderful warmth you brought to these pages in my absence. I knew you would. A microcosmic echo of the sentiment of the warmth you bring to this world.
It’s so funny. In the year plus I’ve been dribbling happy thoughts across We Are Love, I’ve not once discussed one of my most loved projects. One that I happen to be a big part of. I suppose I was waiting for the right moment, and never got around to it, or maybe it’s because We Are Love is the unofficial blog of You Are Beautiful, but I’ve seriously and obviously been slacking in touting the accolades and beautiful motion of this project. Despite my negligence, it was, is, and will be a huge part of my heart, and I have Carson to thank for it.
“You Are Beautiful” is a public art campaign. A worldwide, guerilla onslaught to take back the streets for good.
Created as a response to the billions of dollars spent in advertising to make people feel as if there is something wrong with them. Too much of something, or not enough of something else. “You Are Beautiful” stickers are shared to remind us that we are all the embodiment of absolute perfection and beauty. It’s all about smiles, good energy, and the cultivation of such.
This trip to Berlin along with the support of several incendiary humans has reignited a flame in both Carson and I. At this moment, hundreds of You Are Beautiful stickers have made their home all over Berlin and Amsterdam, with more on their way to Paris, Switzerland, and other countries. I’d hope so, I brought close to 1,000 stickers. More of them to come, and more smiles to be made.
An excerpt from a quick note from Sven to Carson:
“…you have become my friend already. know that i am one hundred percent behind your cause, and ready to conquer europe. the YAB stickers are very welcomed wherever we put them up, and i know a good bunch of people who want to spread them as much as possible. i have never seen anything that people put up quicker than the fall of a raindrop, without the slightest sign of hesitation. come to berlin and see for yourself. seriously, from the bottom of my heart you are welcome.”
These are the feelings made on the back of this campaign. They are good, they are pure, and they are everyone’s to share.
I took many photos of our work. These are a few quick favorites. More love from Berlin and Amsterdam to come.
Oh, let Carson or I know if you want stickers.
