Or maybe perpetuator would be more appropriate. Vija added real fuel to my fire yesterday, sending me some maiden shots from her gifted vintage Minolta. The camera came with a roll of film that she shot, composed of pretty things and love shapes, then took to be developed. Turns out it was slide film. It ended up developed in the wrong chemicals, resulting in an accidental, but beautiful cross process. What I’ve seen of the roll looks killer. In honor of her excitement that led to mine, here is one of my favorite shots of the summer. Fuji slide film, cross processed, untouched and straight from the camera.
We were getting ice cream in Montauk after a long day. I’m not sure how she ended up with the inflatable, but I just thought she looked so damn awesome. I love the heart shaped ivy and Vija’s upside down smile. That ice cream is something really serious, so trust me, it’s definitely a smile.
