I so enjoy it when my friends make music. Even more when the music they make riles me up, makes me smile, hum, and be happy. Candace Devine has been thoroughly loved in this forum. She has one of my favorite female voices. She made my mother cry with it. Generally, making my mother cry is an offense punishable by a slow and painful death, but I like her, and I let it slide.
Over the past year and change, her and her envy evoking, virtuosic partner in crime Dave Yaden have been putting together songs that do nothing but make people feel good. A soul, pop, blues, beautiful, kind of arrangement reminiscent of good feeling motion music of the 70’s, I genuinely love the music they make.
Simply put, David and Devine do it right.
They’ve been on the brink for sometime now, and have an opportunity to do something grand. Mariana Klaveno of HBO’s True Blood is another lover of their groove, and decided she wanted to be a part of their next video. Big stars are always big news. The song “Til the Sun Comes up,” which I was literally humming all day yesterday is one you should listen to, and one I’d love to see a video for.
One problem: Money. They need some. I suppose everybody does. I do. I could use some money. BUT, they asked first, and they asked very nicely.
