No, not unicorns. Amazing craftsmen. People just like you and I, save the fact that they make incredible stuff.
Working where I do, I’m always seeing objects crafted by hands with unparalleled skill, and by minds with what seems like unlimited creativity and time. Copper wire twisted together to form a tree, articulated lobsters made of solid bronze, jewelry boxes intricately carved out of one piece of burl wood, making a beautiful, functional form. Doing what I do for a living gives truth to the statement, “They don’t make ‘em like they used to.”
It’s nice to be reminded there are still people out there inspired enough to be executing their vision.
This amaaazing unicorn was made by a man who came into the shop touting photos of objects he’s made. This unicorn was one. All steel. It had to be hours and hours of welding and metal work. He is from France and the stuff he makes in incredible. Turtles and giant bugs and unicorns, oh my.
Right up our alley.
I just want to ride this into the sunset.
