And loving both ways.

David and Devine.
I so enjoy it when my friends make music. Even more when the music they make riles me up, makes me smile, hum, and be happy. Candace Devine has been thoroughly loved in this forum. She has one of my favorite female voices. She made my mother cry with it. Generally, making my mother cry is an offense punishable by a slow and painful death, but I like her, and I let it slide.
Over the past year and...

Inside Out.
Today feels like this on the outside:
But it feels like this on the inside:
It’s the two year anniversary of Apotheke tonight. I’ve been playing there every Monday for close to a year now, and these two years have proven to be a special luxury, a beautiful place for family, and ridiculous good time.
Everything is lining up to be what everything should be. I am sprung on life.
It's Friday, and I have a question for you:

One of the 6,336,000 reasons I love Nichola Taub.
Our Special Day.
Special MEEZY day.
These are the initial portraits the series of photos I’ve been working on for the past two years entitled, “Tell It Like It Is.”
Hopefully I can get a few more while she’s visiting from Atlanta. I miss this girl so much. She’s a fire in my life. She’s a rat, a player, a talent, a beautiful girl, and an incredible friend. Can’t wait to...
Shooting Stars and Face Cuddles.
I saw a shooting star flash across the starless NY sky last night. That and everything else from Tuesday was magic.
This is how I feel right now:

Vija in Amagansett. I love when things like this happen to film. I suppose I could crop out the over exposed edge, but would it be as special?
No.

Favorites Friday.
One of my favorite images from the trip to Rio.
Taken on the streets of the Lapa neighborhood. Really old, a little dirty, great nightlife, venues, antique shops, samba, hookers, holes in the wall, and a ton to shoot. Lapa was an amazing place to see, but while it was incredibly rich with character, it was also one of the places that made me the most nervous to be speaking English and toting my...
Transition.
Many more Rio photos to come, but it’s colder here. Fall is upon us. I can’t say I’m sad about it, but I always miss summer.
The all too apparent changes tickle and tease, much like they did back in April, from Winter to Spring. This is Kyle on one of the first, true T- Shirt days of 2010.
Also, he voted for Debbie today. Did you?
Art Fix: Tim Walker
This guy makes me sick. He is SO good.
His over the top style, combined with his giant, far out concepts, and his flawless execution just make me double over.
Tim Walker is brilliant.
These photos are the small tip of a big iceberg, and that’s why he gets paid the big bucks.
Santa Tereza.
By far one of Rio’s most precious neighborhoods. Spent some really beautiful time on a most beautiful day. There was a trolley, 19th century architecture, cobblestones, handholding, vistas, and more visual stimulation than you could shake a stick at.
This was a roll of Fuji Provia 400 that I shot 20 frames of, then rewound it, re-fed it into the camera and shot over. I’ve said it...
Vote for Debbie.
Like Waltz for Debby, but spelled differently, and not by Bill Evans.
It’s Friday. And we have a chance to help the talented, beautiful, driven, and downright deserving Debbie Sabet take one more stop toward reaching her goal.
District Homme, her bespoke men’s suit line, is chic, streamlined, sexy, and has been nominated as a finalist in Daily Candy’s search for the...
Happy Birthday To You...
My favorite panda, and one of my favorite humans.
From two years ago. Things change, but this love still stays the same.

Parque Lage.
When someone comes to visit me in New York, I pride myself in introducing them to my city the way I love it. The beautiful, off the beaten path, goodness that every city has to offer anyone that is excited enough. Times square is nice. Union Square at midnight is better. The Statue of Liberty is monumental. The Keith Haring murals all over the city are cultural artifacts. The Blue Note is classic...
What a Day for a Daydream.
I’m in love with this roll. Cross processed Fuji Provia 100. Untouched, straight from the camera.
These are a few of my favorites.
Click HERE for a slideshow of the whole roll start to finish. There are a few more special ones from Ipanema and Prainha that should definitely be seen.
My Last Day in Rio.
A beautiful day, a beautiful lunch, and a table full of beautiful Brasileiras. The best going away lunch ever. Saudades lindas…

Time Waits for No Man...
But it might wait for Mia.
I have all but one of my rolls back from Rio. I’m unbelievably excited. There is some real magic that was made in Brasil, but we’re all going to have to wait, because today belongs to one of my favorite people, who happens to be one of the sexiest, more bad ass people I know.
For example:
Happy Birthday baby.
