Mitzi Delgado.
Well spoken, well read, and well versed in being god damn exceptional, Mitzi left this city smiling at her. Wish we got to take more photos. Glad we got to hug and high five. Safe travels back to La La land, new friend. It’s a black and white kind of week… The present is gift and I just want to be. -Common

The Colorful Hamptons in Black and White.
A little different from last year in all the best ways. East Hampton and Montauk. Starting with the lighthouse. Ending with the good people. What an amazing place, and what amazing people. Gracious host.

Expeditions, Memories, Forgetting
It’s always such a pleasant surprise when going to support a friend turns into an event worth talking about. Directed by Marie Morrow, Memory of Forgetting was a flowing, lyrical, emotive experience. At times my hands, camera in tow, ended up slowly floating towards the floor as dancers Colleen Cintron and Marie Douesnard captured all of my focus. Straddling dance and drama, much like the...

Mail Call.
Nolita Mailbox. Also, if you don’t take a look at Devon’s musings on the daily, you’re missing out. Devon is a constant challenge to my intellect, and a thorough, objective partner to my journey. Never at a loss, and consistently on the move, he is truly a soul benefactor. In a conversation surrounding creativity and discipline the other night, one which has seemingly been...

Longest of the Century.
Anything with that sort of title attached to it has to be damn good. The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century began in India on July 22, sweeping east across China and into the Pacific Ocean. It will black out some of the worlds most populated countries for over six and a half minutes. Go universe. Click through for video.

World Class Musicians Strike Again.
The New York Philharmonic played a free concert in Prospect Park last night. It was an unreal musical display, followed by a super real fireworks display. Thousands of people showed up. It was an incredible community event put on by the city, and it created a real stir. Definitely something to have seen, full of moments to get musically carried away in. Some friends, some wine, a picture perfect...

The Greatest Music Festival You've Never Seen.
When I woke up this morning, I didn’t know about this. It’s 1:45 p.m. E.S.T. I do now. I’m drooling. Convulsing. Rumbling. Spinning. Enchanted. Romanticized. Up. Down. Side to side. Over and over. Feed me this for breakfast, lunch and dinner please. From From Flavor Wire: Soul Power documents the Zaire ‘74 all-star concert that set the stage for Muhammad Ali and George...

An Open Love Letter to Pina Bausch.
The idea of open letters has always intrigued and interested me. The idea of exposing a personal sentiment for the public to grab hold of. Charles Mingus’ letter to Miles Davis published in DownBeat magazine in the 1950’s remains my favorite, but today I was inordinately touched by a fresh one. Yesterday, the world lost an incredible, creative soul. Pina Bausch was diagnosed with...
