A CAPS LOCK KIND OF YEAR.
And it ended highly punctuated. I left my computer on the plane yesterday morning. Yes, you heard me right. I left it. The stewardess wouldn’t let me hold onto it, and stowed it for me right before take off, away from my other bags. I fell asleep, woke up in NY, stood up, grabbed my bags, and walked off the plane. I realized it in baggage claim. The lost and found people called up. It was...

Treasure.
You’d think I’d be jaded to some extent by now. I’m around treasure all the time. It’s one of the reasons I love my job so much. I slang treasure. Christmas this year taught me I’m not. I can still be amazed. I can still be wild eyed. I can still be put on my ass. I try to maintain a sense of wonder. It’s nice when something comes along to affirm it. This...

It's Been a Good Week.
Excited about life right now. A lot like 1 week old Dylan Margo and 1 year old Alex, the worlds youngest ventriloquist. I shot a bunch of these two for holiday cards. This wasn’t really a viable option, but it was one of my favorites. Wow. A big p.s. This photo made me realize something. Photobucket really dampens the quality of my photos. I’d never really realized it until this...

This is Amazing.
An accurate portrayal of how big we really are. And how small the stuff that really matters is. Cell size and scale detail.

Really?
Yes. Really. Someone made a giant sphere out of steel wire. It’s incredible. 36” in diameter, and not in Mantiques. We bought it and can’t fit it in the door. With anything square there is always a little wiggle room to fit something in, but this perfect circle gave us not one inch of leeway. It blows me away constantly the things people have made with their time and their...

Just an Old Sweet Olfactory Sense.
People with any kind of overdeveloped sense intrigue me. I suppose everyone plays favorites between the five, but there is something special about someone who leans on a a certain sense more than others. For some it’s necessary, but for others, and more interestingly so, it’s a choice. Georgia sniffed me so hard this weekend. Not sniffled. That was Alie Ward. Sniffed. The girl leads...

I'd Be Smiling Too...
…if I were this chair. Chief Curiologist Alie Ward in Mantiques. Looking not so appropriately sinister, depending on who you ask. I met Alie Ward about three years ago and was stricken with what I like to call, “Crushes are red, and her eyes are blue,” syndrome. Since then, her razor sharp prose, her creative flow, her commitment to a humorous, yet sturdy intellect, and the...

Sweep Kicks and Sweeter Songs.
Alie is a ninja. Georgia is a fairytale. Alie is verbal savant. Georgia is as sharp as she is sweet. Alie is blizzard. Georgia is a hurricane. These girls are love, and I have pockets full of compliments for them. They left New York on a chilly Sunday and took a little piece of my heart with them. It was a bright weekend, and I’ve been left wanting. Alie and Georgia, I miss you. ...

Welcome to the Neighborhood.
Or, “Don’t listen to Santa.” That’s what the band said anyway. In between touting their circus and engaging East Village passer-bys, Santa kept promising free booze. At the end of the first song, it was fun, hilarity, and free beer. At the end of the second, magic, dancing, and free schnapps. Free schnapps? “Don’t listen to Santa! He’s crazy! And drunk!...

Obama It Was Really Real.
When you won the election the streets of Brooklyn were on fire. Keep doing what you can to do do what you can. We’ll keep doing our best too. This was, hands down, one of the most amazing nights of my life.

Brooklyn It's Been Real.
Nostalgia setting in. A sun kissed wake up this morning in the East Village. Missin the block already, but oh my am I in a great place now. Going to be a We Are Brooklyn kind of week. Some photos have done been seen, but it’s times like these a little resharing becomes necessary. :) Boys on the block. Speaking of the block, Marc up in 477. Making. More to come. Photos: Yashica
