Return to the Earth.
“Oh my God this is epic. Wow, that’s it. That’s it. All hits. All hits from here on out.” I was quoting Mike Bookey as I walked up steps carved out of stone in the side of a mountain. Vernal Falls was roaring next to me, I was soaking wet in the sunshine, and I was nearly as tired as I was close to the top. Mike Bookey said that one time in college. About it being all hits from here on out. There...

The Seven Blunders of the World.
1. Wealth without work 2. Pleasure without conscience 3. Knowledge without character 4. Commerce without morality 5. Science without humanity 6. Worship without sacrifice 7. Politics without principle “Generations to come will scarce believe that such a...

Charity: Water
Tacuma and I played a gig last night at a benefit for Charity: Water, a non profit with a mission to bring clean and safe drinking water into impoverished communities in Africa, India, and South America. In 18 months, it has raised over $3 million and has funded over 600 water projects, bringing drinkable water to over 250,000 people to date. Last nights event went over well. There was a turnout...

Everybody has a Secret.
Sometimes all you need to do is to let it out into the open. Post secret is that place. A therapeutic run through a shame speckled meadow, allowing weight to be lifted off our all too heavy chests. A site that’s been around for quite awhile but interesting in its entirety. Have a looksee.

Go California. Go World.
Today was a good day. At first I couldn’t say why, but I sure could feel it. Now, as many of you may have been considering demanding…some evidence. yes yes yes. and more yes

Think.
The Truth is never easy to ascertain. My current ten commandments. Arete. Bertrand Russel — A Liberal Decalouge The Ten Commandments that, as a teacher, I should wish to promulgate, might be set forth as follows: 1. Do not feel absolutely certain of anything. 2. Do not think it worth while to proceed by concealing evidence, for the evidence is sure to come to light. 3. Never try to...

Pangea Day.
Everyone, this is an amazing event. The thought of our global community as one whole energy, one stream of people is far too unpopular of an idea. Pangea Day is a global event trying to change that by bringing the world together through film. Out of 2,500 submissions from over 100 countries, 25 films were selected based on, “Their ability to inspire, transform, and allow us see the world...

If you love California...
Action is required, friends. Again, the little things. Particularly places set aside solely for simple pleasures. Apparently $4 million is worth affecting the amount of people this legislation will end up affecting. Go Arnold.

Happy Monday.
Monday’s are always nice for me. I take pleasure in knowing that I’m off work when everyone is moaning and groaning about going back. Is that wrong? Maybe, but the calendar makes it even several times a year on every holiday that lands on a monday. The holidays where I get nothing but a day off I already had. It’s ok. Really, it could be worse. I think it’s safe to assume...

Study at Home.
Look at this. I want to go here so bad. Let’s go. So so so cool. About as cool as the Proust quote above. One of my favorite quotes. Check it out on satellite. Tell me you don’t want to go here.

Eco Search.
I know, I know, and I’ve said it myself. A myriad of times actually. Google is the Jesus Christ of the Interent. Until they follow Yahoo powered Ecocho’s suit, however, they’ll be more readily adopted as some some drugged out batman with his $20 Las Vegas hooker. For every 1,000 searches made, Ecocho grows 2 trees, offsetting a ton of greenhouse gases. The trees are paid for by...
