Full.
Friday’s not so black, I’m still in a state of shock over how much I ate yesterday, and I have yet to regain complete control over my body. I thought after spending an hour glued to the chair I ate dinner in, I would at least be on the road to recovery. NOW 1 is playing at Mantiques and I hope everyone had a beautiful day yesterday. Mine was spent with friends made as recent as...

Global Postivity Festival.
Awhile back I wrote that Nick Ditmore and I were going to change the world. I maintain that belief. I knew it within five minutes of him telling me about his passion project, The Global Positivity Festival, that he was someone I wanted to align with. The festival is the onset of his efforts to make a change for the better, and to create a wave of good energy that can be ridden into the...

Matt Litrell...
…just left for South Carolina. He was in town for the weekend, and as usual brightened everyone’s days. Matt works on the show Chuck on NBC. He lived with Marie and I for a time during the writer’s strike. What was a week vacation turned into a several month residency. Yet another amazing New York story. On unemployment, with nothing but time, Matt found the coolest places,...

New York Sending Love to Santa Barbara.
Lots of it. “The full moon lived up to its legend.  The tea gardens are gone with the wind.  This feels like an annointment of my youth, or more like an immolation… but the memories burn brighter right now.  We have to do some kind of homage to that holy land.” -Joanna Siegel, Santa Barbarian in New York Bye bye Tea Gardens. I wish we’d been closer. Tears from a...

Takin It To The Streets.
Two weeks in a row now. The tides of energy are coming in, going out and the voice of the people is being heard. Like it or not. Over 10,000 New Yorkers marched across 61st st. last night, completely shutting down Broadway near Columbus Circle for nearly an hour, marking the largest protest outside of California since the passing of Proposition 8. What a call, what response, and what damage I...

Watch out LDS. Read this quote and click through. “You can safely assume that you’ve created God in your own image when it turns out that God hates all the same people you do.”  -Anne Lamott Daknow says “hi”.

Friday!
Mark Morford. What a man. And a shot from the first Leica roll. My favorites were of Pat, but we’ve been there done that. Soon enough. This one’s a little soft, but there’s something about it.

Happy Wednesday to you. Last night was a defining moment in American History and a defining moment in my life. Never have I been part of such a profoundly jubilant celebration pertaining to one of the most important events of the 21st Century. I will never forget it, and I have never been so proud to be an American. Sitting here looking for words, tears arrive behind my eyes much like they did...

American History Now.
It’s electric in Brooklyn today. Neighbors helping neighbors get to the proper polling stations. Smiles, anxiety, hope, and just a little nausea. Like when you’re at the top of the pirate ship ride and about to start your downswing. Hopefully this day ends on an upswing. This is Gus. He owns Tom’s Diner around the corner from my house. Tom’s has been in business since the...

Wanted.
Last night, Butch Cassidy, equal parts good looking and dangerous, went on a shooting spree. With three meticulously lethal and impeccably quick shots, he gunned down, in order, a panda, a doctor, and Peter Pan. The United States Government is offering a reward of $100,000. He is wanted dead or alive. I’m tired.
